In most circles, crunch time means sweaty palms, an adrenaline high, and being too jazzed to eat.
But for Jaie Benson and Tanisha Joy Lofton, the Atlanta-based tastemakers behind Pop frozen popcorn balls, crunch time is synonymous with snack time.
Their golf ball-size treats are the perfect combination of salty and sweet. Think buttery popcorn mixed with melted white chocolate and gourmet fruit compote (Key lime! Lemon!) or Swiss caramel, then chilled and coated with more chocolate.
Gooey enough that greedy eaters could loose a tooth. So satisfying that they won’t mind the dental bills. And come summer, Lofton and Benson plan to reintroduce their original batches — made with fresh strawberries and peaches — for custom order.
