You eschew the pretense of passwords, plus-ones, and VIP entrances. But knowing someone at the door never hurt anybody.

Make nice with hair guru Derek J. at The J Spot and you’ll be dodging the paparazzi soon enough.

The jazzy new salon’s strictly for those in the know (that’s you) as it’s tucked behind a secret two-way mirrored wall at Seven Over Escape, so that famous clients — yourself, Angie Stone — can duck in and out after hours.

The former video and magazine stylist approaches hair like a science. His specialties: weaves, relaxers, and va-va-voom dos, while color jobs are referred to a trusted pro in Little Five Points.

The only thing J. maintains better than client privacy — and his silky-good 45-minute wash and set — is the shine on his high-heeled boots (they’re size elevens).

He won’t be the only one strutting his stuff.
