A Tall Order
Stout Irish Sports Pub Opens

Round. Short-necked. Stiff. Extra heady.
Ma always said that you could measure a man by his beer. Test her theory at Stout, opening tonight in McDuff’s old space.
Bartending vet Steve de Haan’s bi-level spot is a sporty hangout filled with flat-screens and pool tables. Chef Robbie Pacheco, trained by Paul Wooten (VinoCity, Sweet Lowdown), serves a marble rye bread Reuben and fish and chips inspired by NYC’s A Salt and Battery.
Which brings us to washing down the meal. The 50-plus beer selection (45 by the bottle and four stouts on tap, including a particularly sweet Rogue Chocolate) is heavy on countries that dominate all things football.
And lest you forget, this is the new official home bar for the Atlanta Renegades rugby team.
Which means if you’re not wearing a cup, you’d better be holding one.
Stout Irish Sports Pub, 56 East Andrews Drive, suite 16, Buckhead (404-869-1151 or stoutirishpub.com). Semiprivate opening party tonight, 7-9 p.m. R.S.V.P. to info@stoutirishpub.com.
