Get Spent
Retail locavores, prepare to love Nourish (now closed). Athens designer Lylou stocks the newish boutique with whimsical art, pottery, and sustainable dresses by Melissa Tabor.

Hit West Clayton Street for vintage treasures. Shop Louis Vuitton luggage, costume jewelry, and clothes — a seamstress is in on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays — at Agora (260 West Clayton Street; 706-316-0130). Farther down the street, scoop the latest from locals R. Wood Studio and Rinne Allen at Toula’s (now closed).

Crowd Surf
Art house, cafe, and bar Ciné reviews and previews artsy flicks that spark discussion (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas; Brideshead Revisited).

Get down to Athens-bred acts like Krush Girls at 40 Watt. Then hop along the street for a bazillion beer choices at Trappeze.

Chowhounds
Athens brunches are an institution. Book a cram session at The Grit (199 Prince Avenue; 706-543-6592). Sip mint sweet tea (and order a gallon to go) at healthy gourmet Marti’s at Midday. For a Euro vibe and local ingredients, dine at The National or its farm-to-table foodie spot, Five & Ten.
