Enough already with the rock band-themed parties.
It’s time to start making real music. (An endeavor that requires more than an optical mouse, iTunes, and a keg tap.)
Get your chops at Beatlab, a new store catering to aspiring DJs as well as the city’s pro music crowd. It carries everything — from basics (slip mats, equipment bags), new CDs, and vinyl bangers (Michael Jackson, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest) to high-end production kits. They also offer use of a Pro Tools console and vinyl-to-MP3 transfer.
Owner Joe Andris (Slice and Lava patrons know him as “Mega”) leads a team of local DJs who can troubleshoot or update any software you’re running. DJ clinics will start next month.
You’ll clap to that.
