Pet Project

You’ve always been on the fence about pet portraits. Wiggles-trapped-in-laundry-basket Polaroid on the fridge? Yes. Taxidermies ’R’ Us lifetime membership? Arf. Arf.

But Mitzi Rothman’s new watercolor commissions are nothing to bark at.

Far from staid and stiff, the Atlanta-based artist’s work will look great hanging in your hallway (assuming you don’t live in a creepy, pine-paneled hunting lodge and enjoy decorating with mallards).

Arrange to meet her so she can snap some pics of your pet or if you already have a favorite image, she can sketch from that. Rothman then brings each piece to life with watercolor touches.

Figuratively speaking, of course.
