Culinary acrobatics won’t get you far in this town. Unless your name is Richard Blais, whose cooking chutzpah has taken him around the world and back (and nearly won him Top Chef).
Wednesday, he returns to ATL with a menu of global gourmet burgers that would make Jughead and Archie’s heads spin. At press time, the menu included veal and pork paté melts with candied fennel, lamb burgers with goat cheese and olive marmalade, and vodka-battered onion rings.
Even the decor is topsy-turvy. Curved white booths and long communal tables are turned on their heads with mirror effects on the ceiling. A chef’s table faces an open kitchen window and has all the makings of a retro soda fountain.
At least the kind with Krispy Kreme and sweet tea milk shakes.
Tah-dah!
