East Atlanta’s had a rough go of it lately. James and Avis Prince’s answer? Peace, love, and natural food.
Their new Cafe Slush juice stand expansion is a grocery, sandwich stand, and chill-out spot in one.
Old-fashioned wood shelves are stocked with more Izze sparkling juice, grapeseed oil, and Puffins cereal than you can shake a granola bar at. Local produce (herbs, veggies, Yummy Spoonfuls) is shelved with organic Heinz ketchup and vegan and gluten-free salsas, chips, and pastas.
Check the chalkboard menus for daily sandwiches and soups. (Avis’s mom makes vegetable and chicken and rice from scratch.) Or grab some fresh popcorn or a cuppa and cozy onto oversize lounge benches for free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TV time.
Now that’s more like it.
