Opening an intimate dining spot in this town is no small feat. (Look once, it’s open. Look twice, it’s closed.)
Good thing The Nook (opening Friday at the bend of Piedmont and Fourteenth) has twenty-plus brews, stay-awhile details, and a parkside location on its side.
Go more than a tad hungry for Guinness-braised brisket served with Irish dip and totchos (tater tot concoctions smothered in everything from pulled pork and BBQ sauce to the gooey makings of a proper Philly cheesesteak). Brunchtime, stop by for spicy breakfast hashes, bananas Foster French toast, and picnics to go later this spring.
More tiny touches (computer-friendly WiFi and outlets for nearly every table, homemade ice cream in regional flavors like sweet tea) won’t stay off the resto radar long.
Not that anything gets by you.
The Nook, 1144 Piedmont Avenue, Midtown (404-745-9222).
Speaking of sweet tea ice cream: Mention DailyCandy for a free scoop this weekend.
