3. Jennifer Schwartz, owner of new Snapdragon Photography Studio & Gallery
An ABC newscast inspired the young photog to support Assistance for Cambodia’s Rural Schools Project. Thousands of dollars and a life-changing visit later (she raised enough money for two schools), Schwartz has opened her own feel-good art space here.
Her current show — a color-drenched collection of limited-edition prints — chronicles her trek through the Cambodian countryside. Each pic tells a powerful story.
Toddlers prep for a rice sack race in “Boys at Play.” A sleepy tyke bares his tush on a bike ride in “Neighborhood Kids.” And pieces like “Central Market” are so vivid that you can practically smell them.
Then again, seeing is believing.
