Angelica had half a mind to put that table-jumping Fifi Fitzgibbons in her place. She’d clearly marked seating assignments (by hand!) for a reason.
And the bitch was ruining her dinner party.
That’s when the skewers came out. Lucky for Fifi, Angelica had gone with a set from Bamboo Studio (Eco Emporium, 1000 Marietta Street; 404-875-5224). The all-natural plates, serving boats, and whittled swizzle sticks got right to the point.
“Light food, light mood” was Angie’s new mantra. First came veg-filled mixes of beans, bulgur, quinoa, and savory spice blends from local co. Garlic Clove Foods. Then came food for thought: party-friendly trivia courtesy of a fun new bookstore find.
Fi finally changed her tune — just in time for Edoba Chameleon coasters, napkin rings, and vases to steal the show (At the Collective, 280 Elizabeth Street; 770-696-5845). Double-pane plastic molds allowed Angie to swap out patterns and themes in a snap.
Thanks to St. Simon’s-based marinara blend Parisa’s Sauce and handy-dandy online recipe page, pizzas, pastas, and chicken parms were soon up for grabs. Publique Living pop-up 3-D place mats provided a welcome distraction for the rest of the night.
All said, it was a tasty affair.
