Charmed and Dangerous

so much to see!

Stroller-friendly squares, charming historic homes, and ghosts galore make Savannah the perfect place to explore the mystery of history with the kids.

Check In
The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa (1 Resort Drive; 912-201-2000) offers a Kids Club and a two-minute ferry ride across the river to downtown. Or forgo frills for the Thunderbird Inn (611 West Oglethorpe Avenue; 912-232-2661). Located smack in the heart of the historic district, the mod motel makes being cost-conscious feel cool.

Chow Down
Treasure chow time at The Pirates’ House (20 East Broad Street; 912-233-5757). Serving wayward seafarers (and weary walkers) since 1753, the historic hotspot is always a hit with the kids. For something low-key, grab a slice at Vinnie Van Go-Go’s (317 West Bryan Street; 912-233-6394). Spoil ’em with something sweet from Back in the Day Bakery (2403 Bull Street; 912-495-9292), where the cupcakes cause a local craze.

Check Out
If your little one loves locomotives, chug over to the Roundhouse Railroad Museum (601 West Harris Street; 912-651-6823). Budding Brownies will enjoy the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace (10 East Oglethorpe Avenue; 912-233-4501), where the Girl Scouts of the USA founder was born. End the day with a candlelight Haunted History walking tour.

A great way to scare, er, wear them out.
