People who see the world through rose-colored glasses tend to get “Kick me” signs taped to their backs. 

But we’ll take the risk at Rosebud, chef/owner Ron Eyester’s new resto incarnation that opens Monday at the former Food 101 in Morningside.

Front room updates include new wooden floors, light brown walls, and simple dishcloth napkins to replace the standard black.

A sneak peek at the rotating monthly menu put us in a good place: Ahi tuna wontons with cold noodle salad; grilled pork medallions with a vanilla and sage vinaigrette; and a sweet corn, peekytoe crab, clam, and smoked bacon soup (otherwise known as Morningside “chowda”) are summery additions. 

Barside, pick your poison: Thyme-, pineapple-, and apricot-infused vodkas and gins and a dried-cherry and vanilla bourbon (served with Mexican cola) ensure that sippers won’t wilt.
