The Jig Is Up

Rí Rá Irish Pub Opens

You’ve banged. You’ve mashed. And who could blame you? At midnight between Crescent and Peachtree, there’s little else to do.

Precisely why Rí Rá (Gaelic for “uproar”) Irish Pub is poised to lift your spirits.

Authentic decor would be an understatement: Owners Ciaran Sheehan and David Kelly sourced 19th- and 20th-century glass and wood, securing floor panels from the same shipyard where the Titanic was built. (Look up in the main dining room: A hand-scrawled Yeats poem wraps around the ceiling.)

It’s not all about looks, though. Extensive patio, pub, and dinner menus include house-brined Reubens and corned beef, shepherd’s pie, and Guinness ginger cake. Come Wednesdays, Sheehan and crew will host ad hoc Irish sessions — BYO instrument jams with roots in traditional culture.

Feel like causing a commotion? Rí Rá Beag, the backroom bar-within-a-bar, can be booked for private service.

So bang on.

Rí Rá Irish Pub, 1080 Peachtree Street, suite 1, Midtown (404-477-1700).
