Here's the Plan

trash to treasure art auction!

It’s a buyer’s market.

DONATE
Trash to Treasure Art Auction
What: An IIDA fundraiser with bites from Endive and a trashy peach cocktail (schnapps, honey liqueur) to benefit the BeltLine urban redevelopment project.
Why: Bid on Michael Allison’s wall-mounted sculptures made from found objects and blown glass.
When: Thurs., 7-9 p.m.
Where: Knoll, 1170 Howell Mill Rd., West Midtown (404-522-1835). Tickets online ($25) at iidageorgia.org or at the door ($30).

SIP
Wild Heaven Craft Beers
What: Just-released line of ales is crafted with complex flavors using recipes from Athens’s Trappeze Pub’s acclaimed brewmaster.
Why: The Belgian-style Invocation is a crisp golden (perfect for fall).
When: Watery brews won’t do.
Where: Locations online at wildheavencraftbeers.com.

SHOP
De.De Sale

What: Designer Jesslyn Blake’s buttery soft purses come in a rainbow of colors and are finished with details like sassy fringe and patchwork.
Why: No guilt here. They’re made from recycled, vintage, and remnant leathers — and they’re up to 50 percent off.
When: Now.
Where: Online at swirl.com.

THROW
Best Spots for Bocce
What: First kickball and table tennis, now the latest craze is the Euro bowling sport, and several hangouts are in on the action.
Why: First come, first served — it’s the easiest entertainment around.
When: Booze and balls are on hand.
Where: Two Urban Licks pioneered the trend with Leon’s Full Service, Ormsby’s, Vickery’s Glenwood Park, Young Augustine’s, and Empire State South following suit.

READ
Zero History Author Talk
What: Sci-fi best seller William Gibson (Neuromancer) keeps the thrills coming with an off-the-grid tale about military combat colliding with fashion (trust us) and a menacing billionaire.
Why: Meet the man who coined the term “cyberspace” and predicted the reality television phenomenon.
When: Mon., 6:30-8 p.m.
Where: SCAD Atlanta, 1600 Peachtree St., Midtown (404-253-3100). Admission is free.

VOTE
Start Small, Go Big Contest
What:
Meet the twelve finalists and tell us who you think should win $10,000 for their small businesses and a trip to NYC to attend DailyCandy Academy.
Why: While you’re there, you can enter for a chance to win an Editors’ Handbag packed with some of our favorite products.
When: You can vote for one business, once a day, now thru Sept. 29.
Where: On Facebook. Log in, then rock the vote.
