Some secrets just can’t keep (though congratulating your newly preggers co-worker on Twitter sure didn’t help matters).
Which is why it’s high time we broke the news about the invite-only dinners from 7a Foods, one of the few untapped culinary resources on Martha’s Vineyard.
Hosted by marrieds Wenonah Madison-Sauer and Daniel Sauer, the intimate monthly repasts take place at bucolic, hush-hush locales — from a cliff overlooking Vineyard Sound to an inland dairy farm. (Madison-Sauer, a member of the Wampanoag Tribe, has an unmatched knowledge of her home isle’s crannies.)
The NYC-trained Sauer sources seasonal, organic ingredients from the couple’s farm and MV growers and fishermen to create spellbinding multicourse menus. We’re still dreaming of the smoked whole chicken and potato gratin.
Not enough dish? A West Tisbury lunch counter opens in June, serving sandwiches, artisanal ice cream, and takeout dinners, as well as signature prepared foodstuffs like nasturtium leaf pesto.
Now aren’t you glad we got that off our chest?
