Midsummer Report Card
Social Skills: A+. Mingled well with peers during Vineyard getaway. Demonstrated strong conga-line leadership.
Physical Ed: B. Excellent cornhole performance at family reunion. Ladder ball toss needs improvement.
Skin Care: C-. Desultory sunblock application has resulted in freckling and peeling. Extra effort required.
Time to study up on Boston Jack Handmade after-sun products. Working out of her tiny North End kitchen, creator Alexis Courtney whips up soothing salves using all-natural sea salts, small-batch oils, and locally sourced herbs.
Use her body polish, in scents like cucumber and lemon grass, to burnish dry spots while replenishing skin with almond and grapeseed oil. The dead-sea mud mask infuses fried faces or hair with moisturizing minerals. And if your burnt dogs are barking, buff them with peppermint foot scrub.
Check back in a few weeks for supple body lotions made from organic, cold-pressed olive oil and, come fall, a line of gourmet cooking salts.
Now that’s progress.
