The Weekend Guide

grillo's pickles!

Have the brine of your life.

Grillo’s Pickles Pop-Up Store Opens
Pick a peck of pickled asparagus, golden beets, or classic dills from the mobile cart’s brick-and-mortar setup (and the city’s first pickle shop).
Why: They sell fourteen exclusive products and turn custom orders around in a week.
When: Fri.-Mar. 31. Tues.-Sun., 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Where: 1075 Cambridge St., Inman Square. Follow @grillospickles on Twitter for updates.

Gob Squad’s Kitchen (You’ve Never Had It So Good)
The UK-German performance group cheekily reimagines the artistic inertia of Andy Warhol’s experimental films via video and live performance.
Why: Get ready for your fifteen minutes; on-stage audience participation is de rigueur.
When: Fri. & Sat., 7:30 p.m.; Sun., 2 p.m.
Where: The Institute of Contemporary Art, 100 Northern Ave., Fort Point (617-478-3100). Tickets ($25-$28) online at icaboston.org.

Boldfacers Stylemakers Pop-Up Store and DJ Party
Bigger, better, and, yes, bolder — eighteen local fashion mavens (Linda Henry, Daniela Corte) raid their closets for resale; Flock owners Dani and Lisa Kupsc bring overstock store samples.
Why: Rumors of full-length Marchesa gowns for less than $200.
When: Tonight, 7-10 p.m.
Where: W Boston, 100 Stuart St., Theater District (617-261-8700). Tickets ($10) at the door.

French Cuisine for the Young & Broke
Paris native Eléonor Picciotto, who honed her cooking talents in a BU dorm using nothing more than a hot plate, whips up chocolate mousse, quiche Lorraine, and salade de pates using the barest of essentials.
Why: She makes the meal; you drink the wine (Chateau Peynaud, to be exact).
When: Tonight, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Where: French Cultural Center, 53 Marlborough St., Back Bay (617-912-0400). Tickets ($5) at the door. Call to R.S.V.P.

Know Your Fish
Chef Jeremy Sewall takes the fear out of fish shopping with detailed instructions on textures, flavors, storage, and wine pairings, with copious tastings to drive his points home.
Why: The Great Bouillabaisse Mishap of 2011 still stinks.
When: Sat., 1 p.m.
Where: Island Creek Oyster Bar, 500 Commonwealth Ave., Kenmore Square (617-532-5300). Call to reserve space ($50).
