Why: The Dukes of Hazzard wake-up call (hominy-ricotta grits, maple breakfast sausage, soft-baked eggs, cheese, pickled chiles).

What: During the city’s inaugural sowbelly ’n’ suds extravaganza, fifteen local restaurants tempt you to try bacon mac ’n’ cheese, littleneck clams steamed with beer and lamb bacon, pork pie with beer mustard, and desserts like porter ice cream with bacon jimmies.
Why: Two great tastes that taste great together.

Mass Audubon Work for Wildlife Volunteer Day
What: Tend to your state’s backyard during an altruistic morning of hauling brush, building picnic tables, planting pines, and stacking firewood.
