Those Inman sandwich geniuses strike again, this time with deliciously heretical pies like the Chile Relleno (tomatillo salsa, Cotija, poblano, chorizo, corn, cilantro) and the Red Head (shaved steak, smoked bacon, smashed new potatoes, onions, horseradish cream).
Why: The Dukes of Hazzard wake-up call (hominy-ricotta grits, maple breakfast sausage, soft-baked eggs, cheese, pickled chiles).

Bacon and Beer Week
During the city’s inaugural sowbelly ’n’ suds extravaganza, fifteen local restaurants tempt you to try bacon mac ’n’ cheese, littleneck clams steamed with beer and lamb bacon, pork pie with beer mustard, and desserts like porter ice cream with bacon jimmies.
Why: Two great tastes that taste great together.

Mass Audubon Work for Wildlife Volunteer Day
Tend to your state’s backyard during an altruistic morning of hauling brush, building picnic tables, planting pines, and stacking firewood.
