Maybe it’s an apple pie hangover, but we’re feeling all kinds of patriotic this week. Banjo-strumming, gingham-wearing, made-in-the-USA pride.
Which is why we’re celebrating designer Emily McMaster’s upstart kids’ collection, Mabo. Crafted in Utah, it’s the kiddie apparel equivalent of artisanal, small-batch preserves — thoughtful, sweet, and worth the wait.
We’ve been chatting with McMaster for a few months, but because she’s a one-woman show who uses a family-owned manufacturing company in her hometown, it’s taken awhile for the spring/summer collection to arrive online. We can assure you the gingham bubble playsuits, linen petal skirts, and smocked summer dresses will see their fair share of sunshine over the next couple of months and be in condition to hand down to siblings, cousins, and friends for years to come.
Because this line was “made for you and me.”
Available at mabokids.com, $14-$60.
