You take a picture of your latte.

And call it art.

Get some much-needed perspective from Amy Rowan’s (a.k.a. Art School Girl) new company, Click & Pixel.

After buying a smartphone a few years back, Rowan began tinkering with photo apps (she’s trained in classic photo studies) in an attempt to replicate her old processes. Still, she felt like a cheater, until she figured out how to get the best of both worlds.

Today, she snaps iPhone images both natural (hay bales, forest, seascape) and aesthetically pleasing (typography, tiled floors, statues), then prints them in square format at affordable prices. She’s snobby about quality; you get more than you pay for.

You’ll be transported just by looking — Rowan shot from Rhode Island to Vermont to Sweden. Buy multiples and hang them from clothespins; size up for a stunner above your bed.

Up next: a guest artist series and images from her new gelatin silver print collection.

Available at clickandpixel.com, $14-$125.
