Go Nutty over Argania Cooperative's Amlou Spreads

Start spreading this good-for-you snack

artisanal amlou spreads argania cooperative!

Hi, everyone. We’re [redacted], and we’re Nutella addicts.

Or were until we got our spoon into the new artisanal nut spreads from Argania.

MIT Ph.D. student Zahir Dossa traveled to Morocco to research socially conscious business models benefiting female workers. He eventually established a women’s food cooperative producing argan oil, the central ingredient in amlou, a traditional dip.

The rich, dense spreads contain just three ingredients: nuts, raw clover honey, and the aforementioned oil, chockful of antioxidants and vitamin E. Dabble with the peanut or toasted almond flavors or dive deep into the chocolate hazelnut.

Those afraid of epicurean enslavement can ease in with a bottle of the oil; use for sautes or salad dressings (it’s rumored to be great for skin). But treat it as a gateway drug to your just desserts.

Because they’re just that [redacted] delicious.

Available at arganiagourmet.com, $13-$25.
