Cold Feet?

Chill weather has its fashion advantages: No bathing-suit anxiety. Toasty fuzzy knits. But, while you relish the coziness of cashmere, you can’t help but mourn the freedom of barely-there footwear.

Pedicure? What for? It’ll only get hidden under layers of socks or, oh, something truly original, like Uggs.

Blaze new trails and cover your toesies up with something really cool. Like Steger Moosehide mukluks. Inspired by the Arctic dogsled adventures of designer Patti Steger Holmburg, the Minnesota-based company makes mukluks and moccasins in the Native American tradition. The durable, incredibly warm boots are perfectly stylish, insanely functional, and created for seriously chilly pastimes. Ice fishers, dog mushers, ice-hockey coaches, and South Pole station workers are all listed as possible wearers.

But that shouldn’t discourage the rest of us. (We, for one, were glad to see “journalists” listed too.)

Because, while the rest of your body may rejoice at winter’s arrival, your feet shouldn’t have to suffer.
