When it comes to promises of new and different, we’ve all become cynics.
The significant other who pledged to stop leaving the bathroom in a shambles? Believe it when we see it. The self-tanner that was supposed to last two weeks? Gone in three days.
And brunch in this town? No matter what they claim, they all seem pretty much the same. Except at Perdix, where even the meal’s name is new. In fact, chef Tim Partridge’s new Sunday-only “blunch” menu — a hybrid of creative brunch and heavier lunch dishes — is a breath of fresh air.
Like almost everything Partridge does, his blunch is unpretentious and a bit whimsical. Oh yes, and delicious. Sweets fiends will gobble down the unbelievably rich PB&J French toast. Carb lovers (and maybe a few cops) will hoard the adorable little sugary cinnamon donuts. And savory cravings are best cured by the eggs diablo, loaded with smoked cheddar and house-made sausage.
Hey, throw in a Bellini or two, and you may just feel your world-weary cynicism melting away. Now that’s news.
