Prints Charming

Question: What do the following thing have in common?

Wakes
Calvin Klein shows
Quaker barn raisings

Answer: They all call for quiet, minimalist attire.

Note, however, that this spring season is not on that list. In fact, just the opposite: Once things finally warm up around here, you can expect to see a jumble of prints, more intense and louder than ever. And local designer Cibeline Sariano knows it.

Sariano’s Davis Square studio/boutique is loaded with bright and pattern-festooned skirts, cropped pants, and frocks (you know, Palm Beach yacht club meets urban shindig). They’re the kinds of things the city craves right about now. And, like so many daffodils, the store is about to bust out.

Sariano’s got so much stock she’s expanded into the space next door — and even left a little room on the racks for a few solid, relatively staid pieces.

Just in case you want to look extra chic at your next Quaker hoo-ha.
