Nut Job

Nana’s Pecans

In the winter, a cup of hot chocolate did the trick. By summer, it was all about a perfectly ripe peach. But fall? In fall you want your go-to snack to be something a little spicier. A little crunchier. A little more substantial.

A little more like Nana’s Pecans, frankly.

Made from an old family recipe by the offspring of Nana herself, the browned and sweetly rich nuts are the perfect foil for a glass of cold cider or a cup of hot tea (or heck, a hot toddy). Throw them in your salad for texture and sass. Their crackly, caramelized coating does wonders for a bowl of ice cream. Chop them up and add them to pancakes or muffins and people will start to wonder when you became such a gastronomic whiz.

And that’s when you can tell them the truth: It was during snack time.
