Historically, Rachels have suffered a tough lot.
Rachel, wife of Jacob: oldest son, Joseph, sold into slavery by his younger brother. Received minor song in Broadway tribute.
Rachel Carson: tried to warn the world that pesticides were killers. Shunned by government and science world.
Rachael Leigh Cook: never quite made it beyond t’ween film hit She’s All That. Occasional sightings in made-for-TV movies.
But there is one Rachel rewriting the books. Rachel Miller Munzer, who, alongside husband, Alon, has quietly opened Rachel’s Kitchen in Bay Village. The friendly corner spot is doling out a menu of breakfast and lunch specialties that are fresh and addictive.
Go ahead and try to resist the crustless quiches; the made-to-order, thick-cut cinnamon toast; and the gourmet sandwiches (like smoked turkey wrap with Muenster, green apples, red onions, and honey mustard). The Nutella on buttery brioche may be the definition of sweet success.
Looks like one more curse has been reversed.
