Once upon a time, there was a bar called the Good Life. And though it was a pretty good spot, it didn’t quite live up to its name.
Then it was taken over by new owners and renovated. Suddenly, the menu was tastier than ever, filled with way-beyond-standard-bar-food fare: crispy duck salad, tuna tacos, and pizza heaped with crimini, shiitake, and oyster mushrooms, plus caramelized onions and goat cheese.
But the story didn’t end there.
The cocktail list was full of all kinds of wonderful and incredibly well-executed classics, like tasty gimlets and killer sidecars. There was even a totally cool frozen vodka bar, which had a staggering selection of the world’s best, like the mystical-sounding Vikingfjord from Norway.
The vodka bar, located in a downstairs that had long ago been slightly scary, was transformed into a magical place called the Afterlife.
Where those looking for a fun night out lived happily ever after.
