Gone to Pot

Bloom Lighted Flowerpots

bloom!

Your hostessing prowess, it’s said, is impeccable. Your martinis wash tongues in perfect icy sparks. Your playlists never miss. Your amuse gueules are unassailable.

So when the party moves outside for summer, don’t forget to update your bag of tricks. The cutest (and most functional) way to do that may be with a seasonal prop like Bloom lighted flowerpots.

The Dutch-designed luminescent containers stand about two feet tall and are built from all-weather materials. (Recyclable plastic forms a double-walled molding, sealing the electrical stuff within.) You can plant things in them (a port at the bottom makes it easy to hook up to a sprinkler) or fill them with ice and transform them into coolers.

When the sun sets, they look positively otherworldly in a garden, on a patio, or on the back porch.

And though they might be what’s throwing off all the light, you’ll be the one folks call brilliant.

Available at Lekker, 1317 Washington Street, South End (617-524-6464 or lekkerhome.com).
