Concord. Great history. Great writers. Great grape juice. Great European-inspired boutiques.
Come again?
You thought it was all literature and preppy stores, no doubt. And sure, it’s full of that. But now that Nicole Marie is open, there’s more to this uber New England suburb.
You browse the decidedly uncluttered space (the first clue that this is something different) while sipping Italian coffee or champagne and watching designer runway shows on plasma TVs. You then pick up a little something something — lingerie, home accessories, clothing — by Walter Baker, Gossard, Cynthia Steffe, Tocca, or Simone Perele, all carefully chosen by owner (and former London-based personal shopper) Marissa Fondots.
Don’t worry — there’s a shot of preppy in the mix, too: The place carries select Lilly Pulitzer and Lacoste pieces.
Because in these parts, classic summerwear is another all-important Great.
Nicole Marie, 32 Main Street, Concord (978-287-1469 or nicolemariefashion.com).
