Truly Jörg’s Patisserie Opens

They say you catch more flies with honey.

And it must be true, given how everyone in Boston is buzzing over this week’s opening of Truly Jörg’s Patisserie in Kenmore Square.

Go to catch a glimpse of sweets master Jörg Amsler, owner and former private pastry chef to the stars. (If, that is, James Garner and George Bush Sr. count as stars in your galaxy.) Go to admire Amsler’s sugary, artful creations — boxes of intricate, edible Boston landmarks and platters of pastry “sushi.”

But by all means go to sample his masterful croissants, tarts, and homemade gelato, as well as quiches and pates (made by Jörg’s catering department in Saugus). Savor it all on Patisserie’s outdoor patio — reveling in the sunny setting (and the free two-hour parking).

Now that’s what we call a taste of the sweet life.
