Most of the time, it’s better to get things straight from the source. Whether it’s spring water, handbags, or gossip, if something’s changed hands too many times, it’s hard to know when you’re getting the real thing.
Which is why it’s easy to love Russo’s market. The Watertown gem, which relies solely on word-of-mouth to drum up business, is the source behind some of Boston’s best meals.
East Coast Grill, Blue Ginger, and No. 9 Park have all discovered the gourmet goodies from Russo’s indoor/outdoor pavilions. Seasonal fruits and lesser-known vegetables are piled high next to tubs of sticky Medjool dates, Greek olives, and a case full of aged cheddars and creamy blues.
For the cooking challenged, a changing menu of prepared dishes and a sweet selection of delicate desserts make for a no-effort feast — for you and as many guests as you please.
And that’s one time you’re allowed not to reveal your source.
