You bought the face cream with the eggshells in it because Dr. Dermo-Know-It-All said it rocked. Ditto the exfoliating/fat-zapping body butter. And chances are there’s at least one pumpkin facial in your near future.

Sure, everyone indulges in the occasional beauty trend. But when it comes to hair, the latest look does not always fit all. Just ask Jerel DeFrancesco, who recently opened a new, cozy Newbury Street salon (he used to own one a few doors down).

There he practices his working mantra: that a haircut should be based on your facial features and hair type, not what’s coming out of the fashion mags (though, if you must, he can do those too). To prove it, he offers a full menu of hair treatments and six expert stylists, all ready to create natural, beautiful cuts without frills or gimmicks.

Now that’s a trend worth setting.
