What: Join the Bruins as they roast nuts o’er an open fire. Buy a bag to help children in need.
Why: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas (finally).

First Night Film Festival
What: Ring in ’07 with anime, student works, and Oscar contenders.
Why: Make it a night of many firsts.
When: Dec. 31, starting at 1 p.m.

EAT
New Year’s Eve Dinner
What: Make the last meal of 2006 a special one at Dante, La Morra, Lineage, Copia, Hamersley’s Bistro, and more.
Why: You’ll work it off. Next year.
When: Dec. 31.
Where: All over town.

DRINK and DANCE
NYE Bashes
What: Mask your emotions at 28 Degrees; go black-tie at The Resolution Ball; get engaged at the InterContinental Boston.
Why: To each their own.
When: As soon as you’re ready to toast.

RECOVER
Pajama Brunch
What: The bloodies will flow, along with corn waffles, split-roasted chicken BLTs, and burgers.
Why: Start the New Year off on the right note.
