Making the Band
Band in Boston Podcast

Your taste in music? Off the charts.
Literally. You download all the Top 40 and iTunes’s top songs lists.
Need to break out of the box? (In a word: yes.) Download the Band in Boston podcast for an earful of something you’ll actually be proud to hum while riding the T.
Somerville twosome Andy Guthrie and Jen Kelley are local music junkies who spend most nights scouring rock clubs for new sounds. (Guthrie himself is in a Boston-based band.) On their weekly podcast, they spin tunes from local and national acts (like Aberdeen City and Cassavettes) performing in town that week.
They also broadcast the Flophouse Sessions, live performances recorded in their living room with equipment Guthrie’s picked up along the way. It’s like MTV’s Unplugged — only way less mainstream.
So the next time someone asks what you’re listening to, you can say it’s a local band.
Then tell them it rocks. And really mean it.
