Do Your Bidding
Skinner Auction House

Auctioneer: First up, a signed sterling silver Georg Jensen bracelet. We’ll open the bidding at just $175.
Betty: Ooh! So chic. $175! Skinner’s jewelry auctions are way better than eBay.
Sally: Seriously. Last month I scored an 1800s porcelain vase for a steal. $225.
Betty: But I’ve got Jensen’s matching earrings! I’d never find that price at a retailer. You’re on: $275.
Auctioneer: Iheartwofifty, doIhearthree hundred, threehundred? Going once.
Sally: Who knew that antique collecting could be so fun? $325.
Betty: I know. And I’m so going to Bolton for the Discovery auction, which includes estate jewelry, later this week. Free drinks, window shopping, and you can call in bids if you can’t go in person. In fact, I’ll let you have this one. I’ve got my eye on a strand of Mikimoto pearls coming up.
Auctioneer: Sold!
Sally: Damn straight. Now gimme those jewels.
The fine jewelry auction takes place tomorrow at noon at Skinner, 63 Park Plaza, Back Bay (617-350-5400); Discovery auction takes place at 357 Main Street (978-779-6241). For more information and to view items, go to skinnerinc.com.
