Face Time

A Matter of Face Opens

face it!

Not too long ago, hanging around the North End didn’t exactly benefit one’s personal appearance. (Unless smearing manicotti filling all over your face suddenly became a beauty trick that no one told us about.)

But the neighborhood just got a makeover. Boutique additions like Injeanius, Karma, Twilight, and Christina DeFalco have paved the way for the old hood’s first beauty boutique, A Matter of Face.

Owner Paula Tierney’s fresh, clean-looking little shop carries high-end skin care products and cosmetics from such lines as Paula Dorf, Peter Thomas Roth, Bliss, Caudalie, and Darphin.

The shop also offers girls’ makeup nights, and one evening per week, after regular hours, Tierney provides lash extension services by appointment.

It’s a prettifying alternative to your regular post-dinner cannoli run.

Or at least a good place to grab a touch-up when the ricotta smudges your lipgloss.

A Matter of Face, 425 Hanover Street, North End (617-742-5874).
