Sifting through your accessories bin is sort of like dumpster diving.

You never know quite what to expect: a stray leg warmer, a silk camellia, a few jelly bracelets. You could style anyone from the Queen Mum to Bananarama.

And though you secretly harbor a love for the banana clip, polite society won’t oblige. So thank the god of hats and hair for Marie Galvin.

The fiery Irish milliner, known for her eclectic designs, has hunkered down in new digs in SoWa. She’s stocked the studio with pheasant, guinea hen, and peacock feather headbands; head scarves a la Jackie O; and couture hats — the likes of which can be found atop Kentucky Derby attendees.

With a showroom in front and exposed workroom in back (the space was inspired by French fashion salons), the shop allows clients insight into her creative process.

Hang out long enough, and with any luck, you’ll make some headway on 21st-century style.
