Once upon a time, there was an urban princess who was whisked away by an ambitious prince to the south shore burbs. She was charmed. Until the peace and quiet began hammering at her brain.

So she signed up for loads of charity luncheons and galas; her social calendar was maxed. But what to wear? Her cleave-baring city gear would be too much.

Then in rode another hero, Gia B, a new boutique in the Derby Street Shoppes.

With dark floors, white ultrasuede slipper chairs, oversize mirrors, and Lucite shelving, the decor was modern Milan by way of old-time Hollywood.

The clothing, a blend of clean lines and alluring details, was pulled together pretty. Handpicked by owner Joyce Brennick, labels included jackets and dresses by Jill Stuart, Valentino Red, and 3.1 Phillip Lim, as well as playful pieces by Wolford and J Brand.

And the princess lived happily ever after.
