Last week, some belly-shirt-wearing, leg-warmer-fronting, Juicied-out gym ho took your spot in spin class. And while some say your hostile response was unwarranted, others know that throwing a weight ball is, by nature, harmless.
Tiptoeing around isn’t your style, not even in sneakers. And thanks to Boston’s burgeoning streetwear scene, you’ve gotten your fair share of limited-edition kicks.
Now Doug Palardy of Motley fame is in on the action; he’s opening Motley Shoe Shop tomorrow. Instead of hiding out behind semiprivate doors like some other joints in town, this one is a stand-alone shop for both girls and guys.
Decked out like a tree house, with reclaimed wood shelving and an antler chandelier, the shop focuses on both classic and utilitarian styles of the standard players (Nike, Puma, Adidas, and New Balance). It also stocks a few independent lines like Keep and Pointer — two collections that will surely blow up.
Just like your temper.
Motley Shoe Shop, 76 Dartmouth Street, South End (617-351-6969 or shopmotley.com).
