Guide to the Green Life

get on the recycline!

If the idea of going green conjures images of hairy legs and stinky armpits, think again. You can do your part — without compromising hygiene.

Trim the Edges
Turn off the shower while shaving to save gallons. And pick up Recycline’s Preserve razors. Sixty-five percent of the plastic used in the ergonomic razors is made from recycled Stonyfield Farm yogurt cups, and they come with a postage-paid envelope in case your recycling center doesn’t accept No. 5 plastics.

Make Things Up
Western Massachusetts-based Sukicolor’s makeup combines ingredients like organic sunflower seed oil, beeswax, and white willow. The Sukipure skin care line uses natural botanicals in products like lemongrass exfoliating cleanser and velvet facial cream.

Get Bundled
Donate gently used blankets to Goodwill (Zoots is a drop-off location), then snuggle up with a new comforter from Wül, a natural wool and cotton bedding line. Without synthetics, there’s no off-gassing, and the extra warmth means you can lower your heat at night. Their new shop opens tomorrow (89 West Concord Street, South End; 877-458-8985).

That should bring things down to earth.
