Seeing Green
Sophia’s Cafe Opens

You’re pretty adamant about living the green life. Too bad the rest of the city is still catching up.
Boston, meet Sophia’s Cafe. She’s celebrating her grand opening in the ecofriendly Macallen Building today, and just like you, she digs all things earth friendly.
Her goal is to continually source food that’s healthy for you — and the environment. That’s why she’s using as many organic ingredients as she can get her little hands on. To wit: Her entire menu offers fresh lunch favorites including salads, sandwiches, soups, smoothies, coffees, and teas.
Chomp on a Happy Goat sandwich, made with roasted chicken and Vermont goat cheese, or the Apple of My Eye, with all-natural ham, Swiss, and a bit of homemade apple slaw. And it’s all served up on recycled paper products and cups made from renewable resources.
Unless you’re among the lucky who live in the ecochic residence, she may be a wee bit off the beaten track.
But trust us: This local gal makes good.
Sophia’s Cafe, 141 Dorchester Avenue, South Boston (617-426-1115).
