Wearing Your Welcome

Dilemma of the day: heated comfort or couture?

Don’t let your cerebral cortex freeze over. Solve both problems (while avoiding that dreaded puff piece at the back of your closet) with coats and jackets by Wangwei Gallery.

After conquering the Far East, China’s of-the-moment designer, Wang Wei, made his London Fashion Week debut last year. With his work finally here (via Osaka, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Shanghai), we’ve let out a sigh of relief for what looks to be a splendid moment for winter fashion.

He takes simple, everyday wardrobe items then folds, drapes, binds, and pleats to create couture-like pieces (at semireasonable prices) that are stunning and structured. To wit: The textured, balloon-sleeve number ties neatly at the waist, while the ruffle coat gives military a feminine edge.

The solution to all of your problems? Maybe not. But this one’s a no-brainer.
