Familiarize yourself with the winged kingdom without sitting out in the cold by visiting Anna’s Aviary. That’s where Somerville-based artist and amateur birder Rain Robertson showcases her exquisitely detailed bird drawings, sure to infuse your nature-deficient day with a bit of the wild.

Inspired by legendary naturalist illustrator J.J. Audubon, Robertson works from photos and composes her illustrations with colored pencils and calligrapher’s ink, always finishing them off with subtle touches of glam (the owl’s eyelashes are better than yours). The images adorn T-shirts, baby onesies, and greetings cards.
