When Biscuit met Fluffy, a scuffle ensued. The shoes took a beating, and the fur flew. But that’s what you get for giving Fluffy a new brother.

It’s nothing that Liz LaRaia can’t handle. The genius behind A Pet Ahead has been applying her extensive experience with animals — sheltering, rescuing, grooming, you name it — to pet owners in need of constructive intervention.

After an initial consultation, she sets reasonable goals such as behavioral training, nutritional requirements, and creating a conducive home layout. She sympathizes with multiple pet owners (she has two dogs, three cats, and one parrot) and has worked the gamut from birds and lizards to goats and hedgehogs.

Her tagline, “Lifestyle consulting for pets and their people,” just about says it all.

It’s nice to be taken care of for a change.
