Hey, Neighbor
Highland Kitchen

Neighborhood spots are supposed to be just that: a place where locals can go without worry of steamrolling scenesters or tacky tourists.
Which is just what new Highland Kitchen is to Somerville.
The coproprietors boast strong Cantabrigian pedigrees (Mark Romano was a former chef at the Green Street Grill, and his wife, Marci Joy, honed her skills at East Coast Grill), so Highland effortlessly sandwiches friendly gastropub within cozy precincts.
And speaking of sandwiches, expect an awesome array of the Cuban and pulled pork varieties. While you’re waiting for a cocktail, take a turn on the illuminated jukebox. Or feast your eyes (and tummy) on blackboard specials like mahimahi with mango relish and plantains or a blue cheese fondue.
We’re feeling at home already.
