Do a Body Good

Feel Better Already Guide ’08

walk for hunger!

Week two of putting off the workout finds you saturated with primary gossip but utterly sapped of energy. Time for Plan B.

Take a Hike
Fifteen weeks from now it may (or may not) be warmer than today, but that gives you plenty of time to gear up for the 40th Walk for Hunger on May 4. Start by taking two fifteen-minute walks a day (to the coffee maker doesn’t count), and that twenty miles will go by in a breeze.

Lighten Up
Wean yourself from the “diet” of braised dishes, weeknight chili, and leftover chocolates and consider the oyster. Low in fat and calories but high in minerals, the slippery suckers go down easy. Toss back a few at B&G Oysters’s Tuesday-night tasting through March (550 Tremont Street, Boston; 617-423-0550).

Grab a Life
LuxeBeautiQue cures the winter blues with a mini facial and makeover. Meet with the aesthetician then sit down with a makeup artist for a little buff and polish (thru February 8; 222 Humphrey Street, Swampscott; 781-598-1777).
