Kick It
Concepts Opens

There’s underground, and then there’s burrowed so far beneath sea level, no one you know has ever heard of it.
Used to be that Concepts was one of those spots. A mecca for dope kicks nestled behind the goods at the original and (literally) underground Tannery, it’s now a glossy new standalone store.
Curved planks of wood ripple down the sleek space while industrial felt and stainless steel draw the eye to a wall of limited-edition sneakers, some lovingly saved for almost ten years before their public debut. Skateboards, snowboards, and clothing from Futura Laboratories to Double RL round out the boutique.
A glassed-in booth at the rear gives a stylish nook to interviewers or DJs, and a downstairs VIP lounge is a hushed, luxurious hideaway for the sneak elite.
As well as anyone else looking to come across as well-heeled.
Concepts, 37 Brattle Street, Harvard Square (617-868-2001 or cncpts.com).
