Oh, Grow Up
Central 37 and MKT Open

You’re showering daily, are in a relationship, and recently kicked the “only when I’m drinking” smoking habit.
Hello, adulthood.
Now play well with others at newly opened MKT lounge and neighboring Central 37. The adjoining spots may be just what you (and the rest of downtown) are looking for.
MKT gets a rustic feel from wood paneling (sourced from a broken-down barn in Maine), while all four stories of Central 37 are dressed in dark woods and vintage rose. DJ-about-town Tim Collins is overseeing both, which means the sound systems and music lineups are sure to rock. He’ll even sneak in one Saturday a month to open up a hidden turntable and spin a few tunes.
Meanwhile, chef Rene Michelena has resurfaced to put out plates like grilled squab over scallion pancakes and cumin-dusted sea bass at Central 37. Look for sharable dishes like smoked salmon arepas and a little-neck clam roast at MKT.
It’s the mature thing to do.
MKT, 130 Water Street, Downtown (617-367-0658); Central 37, 21 Broad Street, Downtown (617-263-0037).
