2008 Mother’s Day Guide

She’s your all-knowing, unconditionally supportive, true best friend. So how to say thanks? We asked a few experts how to celebrate Mom this year.

My mom lives in Miami so I’d like to fly her up and take her to Blue the Inn on the Beach. Then we’ll head over to Plum Island Grille for strawberry daiquiris.

Shoes can be a fabulous gift. My mom’s obsessed with them so I always give her a pair. This year, however, I may get her a vintage-inspired bag by Jodi Been. Each is handmade with antique ornamentation, and no two are the same.

My mom taught me at an early age about the value of crispy skin and the flavor of meat close to the bone. So this year I’ll give her some duck confit. I will, of course, make it myself, but one could also purchase some through D’Artagnan.

Since peonies are only in season for four weeks and happen to be our mother’s favorite flower we plan on sending her a large bouquet of them this year.
